(1) Imaging examination X-ray examination, such as chest X-ray, chest CT, MRI, etc.;
(2) Bacteriological examination The detection of tuberculosis by sputum or lung tissue lesions is the gold standard for the diagnosis of tuberculosis. The main methods are:

  • Sputum inspection;
  • Detection of drug sensitivity of tuberculosis;
  • Serum anti-tuberculosis antibody test;
  • Tuberculin test (testing the human body's response to tuberculosis using a skin-like test);
  • Bronchoscopy (with a tubularoscope into the trachea for inspection);
  • Puncture biopsy technique (taking a small amount of lung tissue and directly detecting the bacteria in it, the diagnosis is significant, but it is harmful).

What are the similarities between tuberculosis and which diseases?
Because of the lack of characteristic clinical manifestations of tuberculosis, it is similar to many lung diseases.

  • Lung cancer: China is a large country with lung cancer, and the incidence of lung cancer is the highest among various cancers in China. Men who are 40 years of age or older and have long-term smoking are highly suspected of having lung cancer when they have irritating cough, chest pain and weight loss. Differential diagnosis can be performed by chest CT scan.
  • Pneumonia: Bacterial pneumonia is an acute onset, high fever, chest pain, shortness of breath, cough and rust, and it is effective with antibiotics. Pneumonia is effective when treated with antibiotics, and tuberculosis may be ineffective. It can be identified by tuberculosis by sputum examination.
  •  Lung abscess: lung abscess is more acute, high fever does not retreat, a large number of purulent sputum, antibiotic treatment is effective. Like pneumonia, lung abscesses have specificity for identification.
  • Pulmonary damage, bronchiectasis, chronic bronchitis, and other febrile diseases caused by ankylosing spondylitis are similar to those of tuberculosis, and can be confirmed by X-ray examination and sputum examination.
